What Is Concrete?
'Concrete'
The word cement is derived from the Latin word ‘caementum’ which means rough-cut stone. The term "binding" was later included in the meaning of this word.
'What Is Ready-Mix Concrete?'
Hydraulic binding materials are the binding materials, which are not dispersed into the water upon forming a hard mass as a consequence of their reaction with the water, and which maintain or increase their hardness and strength.
How Is Ready-Mix Concrete Produced?
Firstly, laboratory experiments are carried out to examine qualities of materials (cement, aggregate, water, additives, etc.) and their compatibility with each other.
Dimensions of the raw material are reduced to 50x50 mm.
5 basic stages ascertaining the quality of ready-mix concrete:
Conditions–Design–Production–Transportation–Placement–Maintenance and Curing). The first and last two of these stages are performed by the user, and the other stages are performed by ready-mix concrete producer.
The production process is initiated after the formula, corresponding to the product ordered, is defined on the computer system by the authorized personnel in the plants.
After the first instruction, aggregate, cement and water stocked in separate divisions are weighed at the same time.
The temperature of the mix in the kiln increases up to 1500-16000C, the mix rotating and moving forward is transformed into black round pieces in size of a walnut.
Once the clinker is formed, it must be cooled down to 1000C.
