OYAK Cement Receives “Sustainability Leaders” Award

OYAK Cement has been recognised at the “Sustainability Leaders Awards,” organised by InBusiness Magazine, for its environmentally responsible product portfolio and carbon-reduction commitments.

OYAK Cement, which is leading the sustainability-focused transformation of Türkiye’s cement industry, has added another achievement to its record. The company was named among the winners at the Sustainability Leaders Awards, held for the third time this year by InBusiness Magazine to recognise organisations inspiring a more sustainable future.

A distinguished jury comprising representatives of Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change and editors from InBusiness Magazine carefully reviewed the sustainability reports and tangible outcomes of approximately 200 companies. Following the assessment, OYAK Cement received the prestigious award in recognition of its “High-Blended, Low-Emission Products” portfolio and its ambitious commitments to reducing emissions per tonne of cement produced.

Accepting the award on behalf of OYAK Cement, Galip Tekiner, OYAK Cement’s Director of Alternative Resources and Environment, emphasised the vital importance of sustainable production for Turkish industry and said: “We are delighted that the steps we have taken in pursuit of our vision to become ‘Türkiye’s most environmentally responsible cement brand’ have been recognised on such a respected platform. To leave a more liveable world for future generations, we are resolutely delivering on our commitments to reduce emissions per tonne and focusing on expanding our green product ecosystem. At a time when global standards such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism are increasingly shaping the agenda, we will continue to set a benchmark for our industry through our high-blended, low-emission product portfolio.”

Industry Leadership Continued in 2025

OYAK Cement’s achievement was further reinforced by other prestigious sector rankings announced during the year. The company ranked 43rd in the Istanbul Chamber of Industry’s “Türkiye’s Top 500 Industrial Enterprises 2024” survey, maintaining its position as the only cement brand on the list. It also retained its leadership of the cement sector in the Capital 500 ranking for the fourth consecutive year, a position it has held since 2021. OYAK Cement was additionally recognised in the Construction category at the eighth Platin Global 100 Awards, held under the theme of the “Impact Economy.”
