OYAK Cement aims to provide social benefits to the communities in the regions where its factories are located within the scope of the "Renkli Yaka" project, which it launched with the vision of strengthening its understanding of social responsibility. Renkli Yaka teams, consisting entirely of OYAK Cement employees, aim to support local communities with volunteering and social responsibility activities.
Bolu - Çimento Çaydurt Primary School - The first step of the Renkli Yaka Project was taken with an event held in Bolu-Çimento Çaydurt Primary School in June 2024. The Renkli Yaka team, consisting of OYAK Cement Bolu Factory employees, organized dance workshops, games and face painting activities for the children and provided them with an enjoyable day. In addition, report card gifts consisting of puzzles and environmentally focused painting sets were given to the children.
Mardin - Yeşilli Dereyanı Primary/Secondary School - Within the scope of the Renkli Yaka Project implemented by OYAK Cement, Mardin Yeşilli Dereyanı Primary and Secondary School were renovated by volunteers working at the Mardin Factory in August 2024. The school's infrastructure was completely renewed, the walls were colored, classroom materials, bags and stationery sets for the new school term were provided.
With the opening of the schools, Mardin Yeşilli Dereyanı Primary and Secondary School students came together with the team involved in the project. Various games and workshops were organized for the children whose educational environments were improved by the OYAK Cement Renkli Yaka team.
On the 100th anniversary of Türkish Republic, we were in the field with our mobile truck in the earthquake zone with OYAK Group Companies between April 23 and May 19, 2023. In the "Children of the Republic, Türkiye's Future" Project, which includes many educational and entertaining activities, our children affected by the earthquake came together in the "Recycling Workshop with OYAK Cement" for children in tent cities and container cities.
As OYAK Cement, we brought the Earthquake Resilience Workshop together with our children at the fair held at the Izmit Congress Center within the scope of June 5, World Environment Day in 2023 and 2024. In the workshops held for primary and secondary school children; our children had the opportunity to learn in practice that solid buildings are resistant to earthquakes.
The social responsibility project OYAK High School Mathematics Competition, which was initiated primarily in the provinces where OYAK Cement affiliates are located, with the slogan "Life is Mathematics", was later expanded to the provinces where other affiliates are located. The competition, which aims to encourage, direct and popularize science and technology in order to meet the technical/engineering personnel needs especially in industrial establishments, to support education in their regions, to create technical knowledge and to prevent labor migration, started in 2002.
In the project, the field of which was determined as mathematics and the platform as a competition, cooperation was made with TÜBİTAK, which is a well-known and trusted institution in scientific research in Turkey, in order to correctly identify the strong and respected strategic partner in order to convey the strongest message to the society.
The OYAK High School Mathematics Competition, which first started in 2002 with 428 students in 107 schools in 5 provinces where OYAK Cement companies are located, spread to the provinces where other OYAK companies are located, and met with 3.499 schools and 13,796 students between 2002-2012.
With the Turkish Kidney Foundation, 6 OYAK Cement companies participated in a social responsibility project in the field of health in 2014 and 2015.
Within the scope of the project, 3-day seminars on salt and kidney health were organized for the employees of OYAK Cement companies and their families, open to the general participation of the public, in university halls in the province. A dialysis machine was also donated to the state hospital determined by the Turkish Kidney Foundation and the Provincial Health Directorate.
