OHS APPLICATIONS

OYAK Cement aims to create a healthy and safe working environment in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and administrative regulations, to prevent occupational accidents and occupational diseases and to reach the highest level of world standards in this field and to make it sustainable. Our only acceptable target for occupational health and safety (OHS) is ‘zero work accidents’.

In order to achieve this goal, OYAK Cement believes that ‘all occupational accidents are preventable’.

  • OYAK Cement recognises occupational health and safety as an ‘indispensable priority’ in all its operations.
  • At the factory site, everyone, including managers, must ‘act sensitively to occupational health and safety’,
  • It acts with the understanding of ‘stopping without delay’ the working environment, situations, activities and behaviours that carry occupational safety risks.

OYAK Cement adopts a system approach focused on behavioural change by describing the road map on OHS to its employees, contractor company employees and third parties affected by its fields of activity with the OHS Principles supporting OHS Practices.

OYAK Cement OHS Principles:

  • Occupational health and safety is the first among our prioritised targets and the first step of every work.
  • Complying with occupational health and safety rules does not prevent us from doing our jobs effectively and achieving our other goals.
  • All work accidents can be prevented, no work accident can be considered acceptable.
  • Everyone working in our factory has the right to work under safe and healthy conditions, as well as the duty to contribute to the provision of these conditions and to participate in relevant trainings and organisations.
  • Each employee is responsible for the occupational health and safety of both himself/herself and everyone on the factory site.
  • Each area supervisor is responsible for the employees working in his/her area and for the employees of other areas or third parties.
  • In the detection of unsafe and risky situations, everyone is authorised to ‘stop work’ and is obliged to notify the unit supervisor.
  • Everyone with management responsibility is responsible for creating a healthy and safe working environment in the workplace, developing behaviours and personal competencies and improving activities within the scope of legal legislation, new technological developments and the rules of our organisation.
  • Risk assessments are carried out for the continuous improvement of occupational health and safety performances and deficiencies are eliminated.
  • These principles cover everyone on the factory site.

Human Resources

OYAK Cement’s human resources management mentality consists of the adoption of approaches and applications that support strategical targets and performance, while responding to the special needs of the different industries with which it conducts its activities in an appropriate and efficient manner.
